CONTINUED:<><><>< Good for Parnells on the day were Aine Mcgeogh, who linked well with her forwards and had a good return on the score sheet with 1-2. Red hot Ciara O’Sullivan, who finished the game with a return of 3-8. Helen Stephens who mopped up any loose ball in defence and Ann Marie Mohan, whose experience shines through the team performance from midfield.
Parnell’s next match is against KKG in Northwick Park on Wednesday and they are out in the championship next Saturday in Greenford at 2pm. All support welcome.

Sun shines for Parnells. 14.6.10 Senior Ladies Championship
Holloway Gaels 0-1 Parnells 9-19 On a sunny day in Greenford, Parnells once again showed their intent on regaining the London championship with a comprehensive display against Holloway Gaels. Holloway came into the Match after a good win mid-week against Tara’s, but they have so far failed to convert that form to championship. Parnells were missing 3 or 4 regulars, including Parnells Stalwart Hannah Noonan. Championship debuts were given to Aine Mcgeogh and Grainne O’Riordan, younger twin of Deirdre. Parnells got off to the better start with points from the boot of the effervescent Deirdre O’Riordan and Ciara O’Sullivan and took the lead from the front, a fact that they set out to do in response when they went down 2-1in the first few minutes in the previous championship game against KKG.
Then the floodgates opened with the one way traffic when tenacious Monica Jordan took a well deserved goal after a mazy run from half back. The solid foundations at the back gave the forwards the opportunity to link up well and pick off their scores, with Ciara O’Sullivan in sizzling form putting scores in from acute angles, and Edel Waldron and Deirdre O’Riordan working hard in linking play and upping the tempo to snuff out any Holloway attack.
2nd Half was more of the same. Parnells started to open up more and take more risky shots and work on their build-up play. Well taken scores from Substitutes Mary Hanley and Siobhan Colleran showed the strength this Parnells Team have in depth and are a force to be reckoned with in the coming months.
Whilst the score was quite one-sided, Holloway did put Parnells under pressure throughout, but it seems this year that Parnells have the Blinkers on and are willing to romp over all teams in the quest for the Championship. They still can improve as the summer goes on, as there still is a lacking of Match sharpness between the team, which will only come with more gameti...
