7-Side 2008
With some help from our friends: The winners of the London 7-Side of 2008

Parnells hold their Provincial title

Parnells Ladies Part of London GAA

Parnells Ladies Nine a Side team of 2008

Parnells Ladies retained their provincial crown after defeating John Mitchels in the final at the Erin go Bragh grounds in Birmingham.
Their success marked a day that saw them complete the competition undefeated and chalking up large scores throughout the day.
Along the way an impressive performance from the whole panel showed respect for the only UK competition open to all Ladies Football clubs.
The team was lead by Midland Lady Maria King who stood out for her efforts in defence supported by Karen Halpenny, Jackie McCowen and Mary O Connor, in the middle Carol McNicholas, Edel Grennan and Monica Jordan kept traffic moving in the right direction as Hanna Noonan and Anna Mc Gillacuddy repeatedly found the target, with regular raids on the same target by the midfield pack Parnells took a grip of he event, a grip that remained until they defeated John Mitchels of Birmingham in the final with a score of 4.08 to 0.00

It was a tired but happy Parnells Ladies team who returned to London with their prized possession a possession they have held for many years and one they are reluctant to hand over to any other team in the UK.

May 2008
In late May this year Parnells Ladies brought home the delayed Mary Feehan trophy title of the previous year following a great display of football by this ambitous squad, the game was played in very humid conditions against a tough Kingom Kerry Gaels side..
Impressive efforts by mew players added to the very visible ambition of a settled panel showing a real desire for Silver.

The win was the first indication of the help given by Eoin Kelly who has taken on the responsibility of training and managing the team.

Shannon Gaels Visit Parnells

Shannon Gaels

Shannon Gaels Ladies

Shannon Gaels Ladies of Roscommon visited Parnells ladies in March, their visit included a game which was played at Jubilee Park in Kingsbury.
Being Parnells first outing of the year apart from training the game was a good display played in good but cold conditions.
The bracing winds did little to cool the ambitions of either team and with strong play from two competitive sides on offer those of us present were well entertained, as a friendly goes this one was played with all the passion of championship with colourful commentary from on and off the pitch.

Presentation

The game was followed by a brief presentation and refreshments, later that evening both sides met again at the Spanish Arch for a night out in the best traditions of the game .
